Skipper Kusal Perera went on to score 120 in Sri Lanka’s successful pursuit of 221 runs, while Dushmantha Chameera’s five wickets contributed to the upset win as Bangladesh was defeated by 97 runs in the final one-day match of the series on Friday. A total of 286-6 was parried by Sri Lanka, who defended it by batting out Bangladesh for 189 in 42.3 overs in Dhaka. The series winners were the hosts. Chameera’s three-wicket burst in the opening spell reduced Bangladesh to 28-3.
Mosaddek Hossain’s 51 runs off 72 balls were made by the team’s other top-order batsmen, Mahmudullah Riyad.
debutant Ramesh Mendis declared his maiden two-forty, while spin bowler Wanindu Hasaranga also claimed two wickets.
Mushfiqur Rahim, who scored 237 runs including a century in three innings, was named player of the series while Chameera was named player of the match.

Gunathilaka was bowled for 39 runs while Mushfiqur dismissed Pathum Nissanka for a duck in the same over.
After being 86 for 5, Perera joined hands with Mendis (22) and De Silva (13) to rebuild the Sri Lankan innings and deliver two key partnerships of 69 runs and 65 for the third and fourth wicket.
Bangladesh held up the chase for the final 10 overs, giving up only 69 runs in the process.
