The T20I series between West Indian and Pakistan has been shortened to 4 matches and the Test series is set to go as planned.
West Indies and Pakistan agreed to play a revised four-game T20 series announced on Sunday by Cricket West Indies (CWI). The two boards had to adjust the original trip dates after a positive Covid 19 test on Thursday postponed the second match in West Indies’ current ODI series against Australia. The third and final match, a day before the planned start versus Pakistan, was played on Saturday. The new schedules allow a Barbados opener with three additional matches in Guyana on Wednesday.
“CWI, together with the PCB (Pakistan Cricket Board), examined several scenarios and agreed, in the present circumstances, that the best solution is to cancel the first T20I and to play the four-game T20I series from Wednesday and to keep the remaining tour schedule unchanged,” said Ricky Skerritt, Chairman of the CWI.
“Both teams are at the final phases of the ICC T20 World Cup preparation, therefore we expect an exciting and entertaining series of games.”
In October, the T20 World Cup starts in the Gulf, as West Indies seeks to retain its championship.
The teams will also play two tests at the World Test Championships 2021-23.

31 July: 2nd T20, Guyana National Stadium
August 1: T20 3rd, Guyana National Stadium.
3 August: 4th T20, Guyana’s National Stadium
12-16 August: 1st Test, Sabina Park, Jamaica.
20-24 August, Sabina Park, Jamaica. 2nd test.
