Virat Kohli raging Jonny Bairstow sparked a Twitter troll from Virender Sehwag, the cricketer known for his unique sense of humor.
The legendary Virender Sehwag responded to a trolling tweet about Virat Kohli energizing Jonny Bairstow with an amazing retort known for his sharp sense of humor. At Edgbaston, on the third day of the rescheduled 5th Test between India and England, Virat Kohli sledded Jonny Bairstow, who quickly changed gears and tore into the Indian attack. In the midst of Jonny Bairstow’s innings, Sehwag tweeted, “He was playing like Pujara, Kohli ne Pant banwa Diya bewajah sled Karke (He was playing like Pujara, Kohli made him Pant with his needless sledding),” which was a reference to Bairstow’s strike rate before Kohli’s sledding.
A follow-up question asked whether Sehwag would have tweeted if Bairstow had escaped after Kohli’s sled was successful.
Sehwag responded, “Haan yaar, Karta (Yes, I would have),” to the question.
In the course of his innings, Bairstow went on to make a century off 119 deliveries before being bowled out for 106 runs by Mohammed Shami.
After being reduced to 84/5, he helped England get to a respectable total of 284.
For the 11th time in Test cricket, Jonny Bairstow has hit a century.
India took a 132-run advantage in the first innings after scoring 416 in their first essay.
At the end of day three, they had a 257-point lead over their opponents.
On fifty and thirty runs respectively, Cheteshwar Pujara and Rishabh Pant remained undefeated.
