When Ravindra Jadeja tried to steal Mayank Agarwal’s catch, he saw Heinrich Klaasen blocking his path.
On Friday, during their Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 encounter, Ravindra Jadeja of the Chennai Super Kings and Heinrich Klaasen of the Sunrisers Hyderabad got into a heated exchange. The conflict began after Klaasen obstructed Jadeja’s attempt to secure Mayank Agarwal’s catch. Not too much later, wicket-keeper MS Dhoni made a brilliant effort to stump Jadeja out while batting against Agarwal. However, the battle between him and the SunRisers wicket-keeper hitter was not yet over.
On the first delivery of the 14th over, Agarwal’s stroke nearly landed in Jadeja’s hands. The CSK all-rounder tried to catch the ball, but Klaasen was standing in his way at the non-striker’s end. But Jadeja was not about to keep his anger bottled inside.

Jadeja recovered from the wasted opportunity by dismissing Agarwal in the same over.
In CSK’s encounter against SRH, Jadeja was the hero, taking three wickets while allowing only 22 runs in his allotted four overs. As a result of his efforts, the Sunrisers Hyderabad were bowled out for 134 runs in 20 overs, with the Chennai Super Kings winning.
With statistics of 3/22 in his four overs at the MA Chidambaram Stadium, Jadeja was the most successful bowler for his side, taking out opener Abhishek Sharma (34), middle-order batsman Rahul Tripathi (21), and lower-order batsman Mayank Agarwal (2).
After winning the toss, CSK captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni opted to bowl, putting out the same XI that had just upset Royal Challengers Bangalore by eight runs.
The Sunrisers’ lack of consistency this year has landed them in the league’s cellar.
