In the Women’s Big Bash League, the Melbourne Renegades beat the Adelaide Strikers by six wickets, led by India T20 captain Harmanpreet Kaur.

In the ongoing Women’s Big Bash League (WBBL) in Perth, Harmanpreet Kaur led the Melbourne Renegades to a commanding six-wicket victory over the Adelaide Strikers with her bat and ball on Sunday. The Renegades won by two balls and six wickets thanks to her unbeaten 73 off 46 balls, which she scored with two wickets to her name. As recently as the Renegades’ match against the Sydney Sixers, he had smashed a 32-ball 43.

Harmanpreet has been impressive in the ongoing WBBL despite his recent struggles with fitness and form. In fact, with 219 runs from six games, she is the WBBL season’s third-highest run-scorer.

The following is a video of her entire inning:

For the Renegades, Harmanpreet Singh and Jemimah Rodrigues both contributed useful scores of 27 off 16 balls each. Also of note, Rodrigues had a 56-ball 75 against the Sydney Thunder earlier this week, which he had not lost.

The Sydney Thunders, led by defending champion Deepti Sharma and Smriti Mandhana, defeated the Hobart Hurricanes by 37 runs in their season-opening game.

After scoring 20 off 15 balls, Deepti took three wickets to complete an impressive performance. Against her, Mandhana scored a run-a-ball 50, continuing her excellent form.

Deepti has nine wickets from six games in the tournament so far. Despite their title defense, Sydney Thunder has struggled mightily so far, losing five of their first six games.

The Renegades have five wins from their first seven games in the WBBL, leading the standings. Sydney Thunder, the league’s defending champions, are mired at the bottom of the standings after just two wins.
