Afghanistan vs. Pakistan in the 2022 Asia Cup: After Pakistan narrowly defeated Afghanistan’s side in a nail-biter, chaos broke out as Afghanistan fans began to smash and throw chairs in Sharjah.
One of the most exciting T20 matches ever played will always be remembered as the Asia Cup Super 4 contest between Afghanistan and Pakistan. The match had its ups and downs, but in the end, Pakistan won by a single wicket. The star of the show was pacer Naseem Shah, who secured his team’s spot in the final by hitting the first two balls of the game for sixes. After the game, though, some unpleasant scenes occurred at the stadium after it was reported that Afghanistan supporters had broken chairs and that there had even been fighting between Afghan and Pakistani supporters.
The footage of the uproar was uploaded on Twitter by former Pakistan pacer Shoaib Akhtar and he wrote: “This is what Afghan fans are doing. They have previously performed this action numerous times. This is a game, therefore play it appropriately and with the right attitude. Your crowd and your players, @ShafiqStanikzai, both need to learn a few things if you want to advance in the sport.”
It is significant to note that Shafiq Stanikzai, the former CEO of the Afghanistan Cricket Board, was tagged by Akhtar in his post.
Stanikzai also responded to Akhtar’s tweet, saying: “You should go ask Kabir Khan, Inzamam Bhai, and @iRashidLatif68 how we handled them since you can’t control the emotions of the audience and similar occurrences have happened frequently in the world of cricket. I’ll offer you some guidance the following time, baat ko country pe Mat Lena.”
In the Afghanistan vs. Pakistan game, Afghanistan batted first and scored 129/6 in 20 overs. Pakistan was cruising when chasing 130 at one point, with the score at 87/3 in the 16th over. Pakistan, though, began to crumble after that and dropped to 118/9 in the last over.
They needed 11 runs in the final over to win, and Naseem Shah came through as Pakistan’s hero.
It’s also crucial to remember that, in the game’s second final over, Asif Ali of Pakistan and Fareed Ahmad Malik of Afghanistan got into a fight after the Pakistani batter was out.
As tempers began to flare, Ali came dangerously close to hitting the Afghanistan bowler with his bat.
The Pakistani team also celebrated wildly after the victory that guaranteed their spot in the Asia Cup final, and some crazy events took place in Sharjah.
