After Virat Kohli scored a century in the match against Australia in Ahmedabad, the latter received a heartfelt greeting from Anushka Sharma.
Day 4 of the fourth Test between India and Australia in Ahmedabad saw India grab a 91-run lead thanks in large part to a century from Virat Kohli. India’s first innings concluded on 571 after Kohli produced a spectacular 186, just short of his 8th Test double century, but only because Shreyas Iyer did not come out to bat owing to an injury. The fact that it was Kohli’s maiden century in the format in over three years made it a particularly memorable knock. Kohli kissed his wedding ring on his gold chain when he hit the milestone as a gesture of devotion to his wife, Anushka Sharma.
Turning to Instagram, Anushka published an emotional tribute for Kohli, and said that the former India captain was “playing through sickness”.

Australia’s second innings was three without loss at stumps on the fourth day, with Matthew Kuhnemann 0 not out and Travis Head 3 not out having batted through their allotted six overs.
The Australians are currently 88 runs behind.
India resumed the fourth to last day with 289 for three, and with the help of Virat Kohli’s first Test century in more than three years, they were able to surpass Australia’s first innings total of 480 in the final session of the match.
Kohli, who had been overnight at 59, was dismissed for 186 off 364 balls (15×4), giving India a first-innings advantage of 91 runs.
With Shreyas Iyer not in the lineup, India’s first innings concluded after 178.5 overs, with the score at 571.
In a 162-run stand with Kohli, Axar Patel played counterattacking innings, scoring 79 runs off 113 balls (5 for 4, 4 for 6).
