During the Justin Langer controversy, Shane Watson commended Pat Cummins for his “personable, very honest, and very endearing to the public” demeanor.
Shane Watson, a former Australian all-rounder, is “very enthusiastic” about Pat Cummins guiding the squad following Tim Paine’s departure. Cummins was named the Australian men’s Test cricket team captain in November last year after Paine announced he would take an indefinite break from all forms of the game. “He is the pinnacle of human achievement in my book. Before Justin Langer resigned, he was in a no-win situation since any comments he made would be seen as unprofessional “The ICC Review’s Watson said.
Prior to the end of this month, Justin Langer resigned as the head coach of the Australian men’s national team.
As Watson put it, “He has handled it all so well because he is so personable, so honest, and extremely endearing to the fans and his colleagues,” Cummins’ response to Langer’s resignation was excellent.
Watson also remarked that Australia has a lot of talent, and he is eager to watch Cummins lead the team into the future.
‘I’m really looking forward to the Australian squad with Pat leading the charge and the next era of Australian cricket because they’ve got the quality and leadership to take it ahead,’ Watson said.
