First T20I Ravi Bishnoi made his international debut against West Indies on Wednesday at the ICC Cricket World Cup. Bishnoi was given the India cap before the toss and cheered on by players including Virat Kohli and captain Rohit Sharma. As a member of India’s U-19 team, Bishnoi helped the team to a runner-up result at the 2020 ICC U-19 World Cup. As India’s head coach Rahul Dravid and captain Rohit Sharma try to solidify their lineup ahead of the ICC World Cup later this year, the leggie has long been tipped to perform well in international cricket.
For the last two years, Bishnoi has represented Kings XI Punjab in the Indian Premier League (IPL). Lucknow Super Giants, a new franchise in the IPL, selected him as one of their draughts picks ahead of the mega-auction this month.
Before the game, the Lucknow Super Giants, his new IPL team, sent him a tweet of good luck.
