The Aldwick Cricket Club’s Alex Ryder made an incredible catch during a local league match versus Lingfield Cricket Club.
Cricket catching is a skill that can only be honed through practice and dedication. Even the best fielders in the game have dropped sitters on occasion. While attempting to cling onto an easy catch, some even create a comedy of errors. During a village league game, a 16-year-old cricketer made headlines for making one of the “biggest lost catches ever.” The Aldwick Cricket Club’s Alex Ryder made an incredible catch in a local league match versus Lingfield Cricket Club.
After Ryder fumbled a legal caught-and-bowled opportunity, he accidentally booted the ball back up in the air and took the catch on the second attempt.
‘That’s so Village’ posted the video on their official Twitter account.
“Oh my days, please be on the camera!” a player can be heard begging the camera as he and his teammates laugh.
He may be seen beaming and lifting his arms in surprise, as well as the pitcher.
More than 3,000 people have liked the video and more than 300 have retweeted it since then.
