Former acting CEO Kugandrie Govender has been terminated following a protracted disciplinary procedure that involved Cricket South Africa. On account of the seriousness of the violation, the breach of trust, and including the impossibility of continuing work together, Advocate Terry Motau SC of the Disciplinary Tribunal decided to fire the offender.
The statement said, “Ms. Govender’s employment has been terminated with immediate effect.”
Former CEO Thabang Moroe was sacked in December of 2020, four months after the then-CEO, Govender, was suspended.
This was the last of the pending cases CSA had to deal with before closing for the day.
We feel that finally resolving this disciplinary situation is vital for commercial unit stability.
Furthermore, having ended the dispute also ensures that the company will follow a new course to concentrate on serving the game of cricket and place its relationship with stakeholders and partners on a stable footing.
