Virat Kohli, India’s captain, scored his 10,000th run in T20 cricket on Sunday, becoming the first player to do so.
As part of the Indian Premier League (IPL), India captain Virat Kohli scored his 10,000th run for his team Royal Challengers Bangalore against Mumbai Indians on Sunday in Dubai. The milestone came in the fourth over of Kohli’s 314th T20 game, against RCB, when he hit India teammate Jasprit Bumrah for a six. Kohli, the RCB captain who will step down at the end of the current season, entered the match 13 runs short of the 10,000-run mark.
Before Sunday’s game, the 32-year-old had played 298 innings and scored 41.61 runs on the average with five hundred and 73 fifties.
At the top of his game, he had an overall score of 113. His career slugging percentage is a whopping 134 percent.
