An injured Mohammed Shami has reportedly been replaced by experienced left-arm bowler Jaydev Unadkat in the Indian Test squad for the forthcoming series in Bangladesh.
In place of the injured Mohammed Shami, veteran left-arm bowler Jaydev Unadkat has been added to the Indian Test squad for the next series in Bangladesh. After a stellar effort in helping Saurashtra win the Vijay Hazare Trophy, Unadkat is currently in Rajkot finishing up his visa paperwork before joining the Test squad in Chattogram.
BCCI insiders have already confirmed the news to PTI.
Shami’s hand injury ended her season early.
There will be two Test matches between India and Bangladesh.
Unadkat, now 31 years old, had his one Test appearance in 2010 in Centurion, South Africa, against the Proteas. Seven One-Day Internationals and ten Twenty-Over Internationals have since been played by him.
Throughout the Vijay Hazare Trophy, the Saurashtra captain took the most wickets (19) of any player. Over the course of 96 first-class matches, he has taken 353 wickets.
In addition to Shami, key members of the touring Indian team, including captain Rohit Sharma and young players Kuldeep Sen and Deepak Chahar, had been injured and ruled out of the ODIs.
