Rohit Sharma expressed his candid opinion on how the forthcoming IPL season’s important players should be managed in terms of their workload.

On Wednesday, India captain Rohit Sharma said that it is up to the franchises in the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 to manage the workload of key Indian players. The captain claims that the Indian team’s administration has given the IPL clubs “some borderline indications” concerning player workload management, but he doubts that the franchises will adhere to the advice. Less than ten days after the conclusion of India’s home ODI series against Australia (which Australia won 2-1), the 2023 edition of the Indian Premier League will begin. Little more than a week after the showdown for the IPL trophy on May 28, the all-important ICC World Test Championship final begins. It has also been announced that India would host the 50-over World Cup in the months of October and November of this year.

“So, really, it’s up to the franchises themselves now. Teams currently have legal custody of the players we indicated to them, thus we may have provided them with a sliver of leeway. But ultimately it is up to the franchise, and more importantly, it is the players who are responsible for their own health and well-being “The third one-day international between India and Australia ended in Chennai, and Rohit was quoted by ESPNCricinfo after the match.

“Everyone who plays is an adult. They need to take care of their bodies, and if they feel like the pressure is building, they may discuss it and take a break for a game or two if necessary. Although I find it quite unlikely, “The Captain said we should add.

There are a lot of ailments on the Indian team right now. Despite miraculously escaping a terrible vehicle crash last year, Rishabh Pant will not participate this season. Shreyas Iyer, captain of the Kolkata Knight Riders, is also expected to miss the first half of the Indian Premier League due to a reoccurring back problem he originally suffered in December, shortly after returning from a tour of Bangladesh. Since then, he’s been bothered by the injury, which forced him to miss the first Test between New Zealand and Australia and the white-ball series at home. The soreness had subsided after the second and third Tests, but it returned in the fourth and final Test at Ahmedabad, therefore he did not bat in India’s lone innings.

Rohit is worried about his team’s growing injury list, which includes fast bowlers like Jasprit Bumrah and Prasidh Krishna, and has a long recovery period for them.

“The absence of regular members of the starting eleven is a matter of concern, so let’s be clear: we’re worried. We have been putting a lot of time and effort into player management, so you keep seeing us sit some of our star players at specific times.”

“Injuries are given when cricket is played so frequently. Thus, we aren’t delving too far into it; instead, we’re focusing on maintaining command over what’s immediately accessible to us.”

“The players are just as angry as the fans. They are eager to participate because they do not wish to be left out. Sure, that’s discouraging, but there’s not much anyone can do about it. There are many individuals working behind the scenes, and I can attest to the fact that they work very hard. Yet, accidents do happen, and Shreyas [Iyer] is the clearest illustration of how easily one person’s hard work can be undone by another. He had been sitting all day and decided to stand up and take a swing. Well, he did sustain that injury, as you well know. And there’s really no way to prevent that; the most we can do is make sure our players have enough rest and time off. In my opinion, we are contributing to that effort “said Sharma, to sum up.
