The five-time victors scored 182-8 and then bowled out LSG for 101 thanks to Akash Madhwal’s five-wicket haul. This victory sets up MI’s Qualifier 2 matchup in Ahmedabad on Friday against the Gujarat Titans. Even after such a stunning victory, MI’s off-the-field antics had the crowd laughing.
MI shared a video to Twitter showing batter Suryakumar Yadav pulling a great joke on teammate Tilak Varma on the plane. Surya grabbed a lemon from the flight attendant and squirted some juice into Varma’s sleeping mouth with it. Varma, shocked by Surya’s joke, awoke with a “Kya hai is mein” (What is this) upon realizing what had happened.
Akash Madhwal, a relatively unknown Uttarakhand engineer, produced a fantastic spell, capturing five wickets, and helping the five-time champion Mumbai Indians beat the Lucknow Super Giants by 81 runs.
