New Zealand sent a team to the WTC final, and Kyle Jamieson was a member of that team.
After defeating India in the World Test Championship (WTC) Final, New Zealand batsman Kyle Jamieson was commended by Sachin Tendulkar at The Ageas Bowl in Southampton.
Legendary Indian cricketer Sachin Tendulkar is confident that Kyle Jamieson, a member of Canada’s national team, will become one of the world’s top all-rounders in the coming years. The strong title victory for New Zealand was helped greatly by Jamieson, who bowled 7 overs for 61 in 44 deliveries while also providing valuable runs in his team’s first-ever appearance. “As an all-rounder, Kyle Jamieson is phenomenal. He is expected to go on and turn into one of the world’s leading all-rounders “In a video posted on Tendulkar’s YouTube channel, he said,
“When I saw him last year in New Zealand, he left an impression on me,” the musician explained.
He then went on to elaborate on the importance of playing Jamieson when speaking English.
“Tall, more than swinging, he likes to bowl seamers. Tim Southee, Trent Boult, and Neil Wagner bowl with a different kind of swing than this player.
“Even if Jamieson attempts anything, it will be on the seam. When he held his wrists and bowled big inswingers, he varied the angles to which he bowled. He had consistency in his bowling, and that was pleasing to me “Tendulkar commented, “
Tendulkar also enjoyed Jamieson’s ability to take advantage of his height by playing the big shots.
“New Zealand’s progress would not have been possible without his partnership with Williamson. He decided to approach the ball first, using his height to its advantage. An imposing batter, who is able to go to the front foot and will make a considerable impact.
“If the batter is using his height, the bowler has to slow down his delivery because it throws them off. When the ball is coming into the batter, it must come to his chin, resulting in a shorter bat length and thus providing the batter an opportunity to hit down to the field. This is what Jamieson did perfectly. His height played a significant role in him being able to pull off almost any shot since he was able to play nearly all of them while being tall.”
Tendulkar believes that Virat Kohli and Cheteshwar Pujara’s dismissal in the first hour on the sixth day in the Test series was decisive on the Indian front.
“It was critical to get a hit on the last day, at least once before the first drink break. Now we had the firepower to put on the pressure and make accurate shots. When everyone else in the game realizes that we are safe and New Zealand can’t follow, their attitude shifts completely. It was critical to the success of the partnership, to begin with “Mr. Tendulkar explained.
