The Mumbai Indians have announced the appointment of Simarjeet Singh as Arjun Tendulkar’s replacement.
After completing quarantine, Simarjeet joined the team and began training.
Fast bowler Simarjeet Singh was signed by Mumbai Indians on Wednesday to replace injured all-rounder Arjun Tendulkar.
The Mumbai Indians have named a replacement for Arjun Tendulkar, who is out with a hamstring injury. The Delhi Daredevils have announced that Arjun has been replaced by Simarjeet Singh, a seamer. For the remainder of the IPL 2021 season, the Mumbai Indians have added Simarjeet Singh as an injury replacement for Arjun Tendulkar. According to IPL guidelines, the right-arm medium-fast bowler has completed the mandatory quarantine and has begun training with the team.
When Arjun Tendulkar went down with a season-ending injury, the Mumbai Indians had no choice but to name a replacement for the rest of the season.
Arjun Tendulkar was signed by the defending champions earlier this year for a base price of Rs 20 lakh.
Arjun, who has bowled numerous times in India’s nets, was unable to participate in the IPL this year. In the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, the left-arm bowler made his senior Mumbai T20 debut in January 2021.
As for his replacement, Simarjeet recently went on a white-ball tour of Sri Lanka with Team India. He played six games in the series. Even though the Delhi seamer didn’t play, he had the chance to mingle with other white-ball regulars like Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Deepak Chahar.
After beating Punjab Kings on Tuesday, Mumbai Indians are currently fifth in the IPL 2021 standings. This year’s team, led by Rohit Sharma, is aiming for a record-extending sixth IPL crown.
