IPL 2021 Auction: Set to be included in the list of cricketers in the upcoming auction for the Indian Premier League 2021, Harbhajan Singh and Kedar Jadhav are the only two Indian players to be included in the highest base price of Rs 2 crore.
The Indian Premier League (IPL) has released a list of 292 cricketers who will go with the hammer in the auction, which will be held in Chennai on 18 February. Earlier, a total of 1114 players had initially registered for the auction along with the finalists, a list of cricketers submitted by eight franchises based on the shortlist. A total of 164 Indian players will participate in the IPL 2021 auction and they will be among 125 foreign cricketers. In addition, three players from Associate Nations are included in the list.
Harbhajan Singh and Kedar Jadhav are the only two Indian players to be included in the highest base price category of Rs 2 crore.
Eight foreign players are also included in that bracket. The eight foreign cricketers are Glenn Maxwell, Steve Smith, Shakib Al Hasan, Moin Ali, Sam Billings, Liam Plunkett, Jason Roy and Mark Wood.
Meanwhile, 12 players have been included in the base price category of Rs 1.5 crore. In the Rs 1 crore category, Hanuma Vihari and Umesh Yadav are two Indian cricketers in the list of 11.
Starting on February 18 at 3:00 pm, Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) will enter the auction with the biggest purse among all franchises.
KXIP has an available salary cap of Rs 53.20 crore with nine available slots.
Meanwhile, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) are placed favorably, with a salary cap of Rs 10.75 crore each.
