IPL 2022: Rohit Sharma has scored just 80 runs at an average of 20 while captaining the Mumbai Indians, a team that has lost four straight games.
Graeme Smith, a former captain of South Africa, believes that Rohit Sharma is suffering from “mental strain” as he leads the Indian side in the upcoming IPL. Despite winning the IPL a record five times, Rohit’s Mumbai Indians have yet to open their account in the lucrative league’s 15th season, losing all four of their matches thus far. That is, after leading India to wins over the West Indies and Sri Lanka in the white-ball series, followed by a Test series against the islanders at home.
For the first time since he was named India’s white-ball captain, he’s leading MI in competition. Does the IPL suffer from the same kind of mental fatigue? ‘Cricket.com’ cited Smith as saying “It is something to consider.”
