The match was dropped because of rain
A booking day was planned for Tuesday
Five players will make their debuts in Ireland
The first T20I between the two teams was reprogrammed due to persistent rain.
The first T20I was dropped on Sunday due to persistent rain between Ireland Women and Scotland Women. It was the first match in Scotland since the UAE in Dubai in December 2019 and marks the start of their journey to the ICC T20 World Cup in October. However, persistent rain caused the first T20I to be abandoned. A day of reservation was scheduled for Tuesday. Cricket Ireland said there has also been another move to maximize playtime in the series, with the match now beginning at 11 a.m. (local time).
“Sadly, today’s weather has beaten us. Tuesday’s a Reserve Day and that’s now going to be a day to play. Join us back here at Stormont tomorrow for what now becomes Match #1 of the season,” Ireland Women’s Cricket tweeted.
Last week, Cricket Ireland nominated a 15-member women’s squad in Stormont with Laura Delany as the captain of the side for the international series against Scotland.
Five players in the team bid their international debuts. After both played their last internationals in June 2018, Cara Murray and Rachel Delaney have returned to the international team.
