T20 World Cup 2022: According to Ravi Shastri, KL Rahul needs to accumulate runs before he can continue to put pressure on the middle order.
For India’s starting quarterback KL Rahul, the current T20 World Cup has been a dismal one thus far. In three games in the major event, the hitter has only scored 22 runs, a dismal average of 7.33. Rahul has only scored 4, 9, and 9 in the games against Pakistan, the Netherlands, and South Africa, respectively, failing to reach double digits in each of his innings. Former India cricketer and ex-head coach Ravi Shastri has advised the opener to find his form because he is having trouble getting going.
Rahul must have experience scoring runs, according to Shastri, because he cannot keep applying pressure to the middle order.
“More consistency from the top is required. It will be beneficial if KL Rahul scores some runs because you can’t keep pressing the middle order “on ICC’s “The Big Time Preview,” Ravi Shastri stated.
At the current T20 tournament in Australia, Suryakumar Yadav of India is in phenomenal form but Rahul is having trouble with his form. With the help of two half-centuries, he has amassed 134 runs over three games at an average of 67.00 and a strike rate of 178.66.
Regarding Suryakumar, Shastri stated: “He is making this World Cup shine. Ten years ago, no one could have imagined him playing the shots he is. He is a really good player.”
India has played three matches and presently holds the second-place spot in Group 2 in the T20 World Cup Super 12 stage with a total of five points. On November 2, they play Bangladesh at Adelaide Oval.
