Yuzvendra Chahal, Krishnappa Gowtham, an Indian cricket maker, tested positive COVID-19 in Sri Lanka, sources reported to NDTV. The duo was with the Indian team for Sri Lanka’s white-ball series but did not play the second and third T20I after getting in contact with Krunal Pandya whose positive test results led the second T20I to be replaced one day. Chahal and Gowtham have been in isolation after Krunal has proved positive, and now, while the rest of the Indian team is coming home today, the trio will remain in Sri Lanka.
The second and third T20I, the last two matches on India’s Sri Lankan tour, have been held on consecutive days (28 July 29) but are isolated from various members of the Indian team.
