Kuldeep Yadav is reportedly out of the Indian Premier League in 2021.
Kuldeep was injured in the knee, according to a report from PTI.
There is a four-to-six-month absence planned for the left-arm spinner.
Kuldeep Yadav is reportedly back in India for the 2021 edition of the Indian Premier League after suffering a knee injury while training in the United Arab Emirates.
Having already returned to India after having his IPL campaign in the UAE cut short due to injury, left-arm wrist-spinner Kuldeep Yadav has suffered a serious knee injury and will most likely miss the domestic season. The former Kolkata Knight Riders cricketer, an out-of-favor India international, is expected to undergo a lengthy rehabilitation process before making a competitive comeback. “Yes, we learned that Kuldeep was injured badly in a practice session in the United Arab Emirates. He twisted his knee while fielding and it was already bad at that point, according to reports.
On condition of anonymity, a senior BCCI official following the progress of IPL teams told PTI that “he had no chance of taking any further part” and had been returned to India.
Kuldeep recently underwent surgery in Mumbai, and he will be out of commission for four to six months before he can return. “In general, knee injuries are very painful and debilitating. It’s a long road from the time you start walking to the time you finish light intensity training and begin net sessions at the NCA, all of which take time.
Another IPL source familiar with the situation said, “It can’t be said with certainty that Kuldeep will be match ready by the time the Ranji Trophy concludes.”
Kuldeep shared a photo of himself and KKR head coach Brendon McCullum on Twitter, the day before McCullum’s birthday.
“It’s obvious from the date stamp that this is an old photo. Kuldeep is now back in India after a brief hiatus. If my memory serves me correctly, he has already undergone surgery “it was reported by the insider.
When head coach Ravi Shastri labeled Kuldeep as India’s No. 1 spinner in foreign conditions after a five-wicket haul in Sydney, it must be mentioned that he has had a rough two years.
When Kuldeep went through a slump in the 2019 IPL, things changed drastically for him. His career has taken a downward turn since the Indian team management lost faith in his abilities, including when it came time to select rank turners, where classical left-arm orthodox Shahbaz Nadeem was selected from the stand-by while Kuldeep was in the main squad.
The Kanpur-born 26-year-old has taken 174 wickets in seven Tests, 65 One-Day Internationals, and 23 Twenty20 Internationals. A middling performance with the best ODI and T20I figures of 2/48 and 2/30 in Sri Lanka was his last appearance for India.
In the other two games he played on that tour, an ODI and a T20I, he failed to pick up a wicket.
