Shreyas Iyer
In the second Test against Sri Lanka, India's top scorer in both innings was Shreyas Iyer.

Last month, Shreyas Iyer won the trophy for his outstanding white-ball performances against the West Indies and Sri Lanka at home.

All-rounder Amelia Kerr of New Zealand and Indian all-rounder Shreyas Iyer were named the International Cricket Council’s “Players of the Month” for February. Iyer won the award because of his outstanding white-ball performances in the recent home series against the West Indies and Sri Lanka.

As a result, he was able to beat off competitors from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Nepal (Dipendra Singh Airee).

An impressive 80 in the third one-day international against West Indies in Ahmedabad was followed by a quick 16-ball 25 in the last game of the three-match Twenty20 international series.

In the T20I series against Sri Lanka, he was even better, scoring 204 runs in three innings with a strike rate of 174.36 and being undefeated.

A Player of the Series performance, he amassed totals of 57(28), 74(44), and 73*(45) over the course of three games, while hitting 20 fours and seven sixes overall.

According to former Sri Lanka cricketer and voting panel member Russell Arnold, “Shreyas had excellent consistency and control” throughout the month.

“To say that he dominated the opposition bowlers would be an understatement. He scored runs all over the wicket and was extremely difficult for bowlers to bowl at. What impressed me the most was his calm demeanor in the face of intense competition for a regular spot in India’s starting lineup.” The 27-year-old has continued his good form into this month, scoring an impressive 92 in the first innings of the second Test match now taking place in Bangalore versus Sri Lanka.

Women’s Player of the Match (POTM) Kerr, a 21-year-old all-rounder from New Zealand, was honored for her outstanding performance in the home white-ball series against India.

Kerr was selected ahead of Mithali Raj and Deepti Sharma, the other two nominees, to receive the honor. The Wellington-born cricketer is already being touted as one of the best in the modern age.

It was just a matter of time before Heather Kerr established herself as a world-class cricketer after hitting 17 in New Zealand’s T20I triumph and taking 2/5 in the one-day internationals.

She scored 353 runs at an average of 117.67 and took seven wickets at an economy rate of 5.78 in the ODI series.

In the second ODI, she returned figures of 1/43 with the ball before leading a nervous 271-run chase with a superb unbeaten 119. She was voted Player of the Match in both the second and fourth ODIs.

Former Ireland women’s cricketer and panel member Isobel Joyce observed, “Amelia Kerr is developing into a genuine all-rounder on the New Zealand team,” per Sportsmail.

This is the first time she’s been recognized as one of the top cricketers in the world because she’s been a world-class leg spinner for a long time. Kerr has already scored 111 runs and taken five wickets in four matches for the White Ferns at the current World Cup.
