After retiring from international cricket in 2020, MS Dhoni has continued to play in the IPL as a player. During the tournament’s 15th year, he last appeared for the Chennai Super Kings.

Former India captain MS Dhoni turned 41 on Thursday, July 7th – his birthday. In addition to Indian cricketers like Sachin Tendulkar, Virat Kohli, and Suresh Raina, players from throughout the world also took to social media on Dhoni’s birthday to express their gratitude. Shahnawaz Dahani’s tweet was the most popular of the thousands that came in from around the world. The Pakistani pacer’s heartfelt tribute to his “inspiration and role model,” MS Dhoni, went viral on the internet.

In a social media post, Dahani wished Dhoni a happy birthday and referred to him as “one of the greatest entertainers and finishers of all time”. The Indian skipper’s appeal to remain to play “for at least (sic) few more years” was made by Dahani as well.

Danani penned the following: “Happy birthday, Sir @msdhoni, to one of cricket’s all-time greatest entertainers and finishers, an inspiration and a role model. And sir, you’re still young and fit enough to keep entertaining us for at least a few more years, so keep up the good work.”

He’s still playing in the IPL despite having announced his retirement from international cricket back in 2016. This year’s competition marked his final appearance for the Chennai Super Kings. Dhoni retired as one of India’s most successful captains, and he is the only skipper to win all three major limited-overs ICC trophies – the T20 World Cup (2007), the ODI World Cup (2011), and the Champions Trophy (2013).
