Steve Smith, a veteran Australian cricketer, and current Delhi Capitals (DC) player turned 32 on Wednesday. For years, Smith has been the mainstay of the batting order, helping to steady the team and relieving pressure on his teammates. So, on his birthday, numerous players from all over the world wished him on social media, including his IPL colleagues.
“Smudge” was celebrated by the Delhi Capitals opener and team member Shikhar Dhawan in an Instagram story. He posted an image of the two playing for DC, where she stuck out her fist in exchange for a bump.

Due to the deepening Covid-19 pandemic in India in April-May, several of the Australian players had to return to their home country. The IPL had to be halted midway through the tournament with the rest of the fixtures taking place in the United Arab Emirates in September and October.
A number of Australian players had originally decided to remain with their respective franchises rather than returning in the event that things went worse.
Most of the relocation participants had to return to Australia, where they had relocated, because their country of origin, India, had been placed under a temporary travel restriction while their travel ban exemption was being reviewed.
