Sachin Tendulkar made light of Henry Nicholls’ dismissal by joking that in “gully cricket,” the non-striker batter would have been declared out of the batting order.
One of England’s players was sent home in the third Test against New Zealand on Thursday. Leach’s half-volley sailed straight for Henry Nicholls at the non-end, the striker’s hit the bat of Daryl Mitchell and ended up in the hands of Alex Lees in the mid-off zone. Even though the entire England squad shouted in glee at the golden wicket, the sad dismissal also gave netizens a good laugh.
Sachin Tendulkar, a former Indian cricketer, was also among many who took to social media to share their thoughts on the film. The non-striker batsman would have been pronounced out instead of the batter on strike, Tendulkar joked when asked about the dismissal.
According to the cricket veteran, “in Gully Cricket we’d declare the non-striker out.”

In the words of Sachin Tendulkar When is the date?
A five-wicket haul of 5/100 from Jack Leach was supported by 3/62 from Stuart Broad for England.
At one point, Trent Boult (3/73) blasted through England’s top order and Neil Wagner (2/53) took care of business in the middle. But Jonny Bairstow’s unbroken 130 and Jamie Overton’s 89 not out swung the game in England’s direction. England’s sixth-wicket partnership of 209 put them in a considerably better position at the close of play on the second day.
The Three Lions finished Day 2 with a total of 264/6, 65 runs short of New Zealand’s total.
