The Indian women’s cricket team struggled to find its rhythm with the bat and the ball, going down by nine wickets in the first T20 Internationals to a dominant England side. The Indian batsmen struggled against leg-spinner Sarah Glenn’s four-for and were held to a pitiful 132 for seven in their allotted 20 overs at Riverside Ground on Saturday night after being put in to bat by England captain Amy Jones.

Glenn concluded with superb statistics of 4/23 after bowling her allotted four overs and caused difficulties for the Indian batters throughout. While India had a disappointing night on the field in the inclement circumstances, Sophia Dunkley quickly reached a 44-ball 61 to finish the chase in just 13 overs.

For the visitors, opener Smriti Mandhana scored 23 points, and all-arounder Deepti Sharma scored 24 points in 29 balls.

Between innings, captain Harmanpreet Kaur raced to 20 runs off 16 balls before Glenn bowled her.

That accurately described India’s batting, as none of them were able to contribute significantly.

Richa Ghosh, a wicketkeeper, also made a start but was defeated by medium-pacer Freya Davies after reaching 16 in 12 balls.

the powerful; India was at 47 for two in the seventh over when Shafali Verma lost her wicket after scoring 14 runs in 13 balls and was caught by Bryony Smith off the bowling of Glenn.

India lost wickets frequently despite maintaining a high run rate, giving England the advantage in the opening of the three T20Is.

By the time Ghosh was dismissed in the 12th over, India was 83 for 4. However, they were only able to score 49 runs in the following overs.

When chasing 133, England got off to a fast start with runs from both Dunkley and opening partner Danielle Wyatt (24 off 16 balls), who combined for 60 runs in just 6.2 overs.

Renuka Singh’s no-ball saved Dunkely from being caught behind in the first innings, and Shafali then botched a simple catch at mid-off with the batter on 15. Again, Renuka was the misfortunate bowler.

There were several thick margins between them as well.

After receiving the reprieves, Dunkley went on to make her highest score in the format while collaborating with Alice Capsey, who remained unbeaten on a windy 32 off 20 balls, in a 74-run second-wicket stand.

Dunkley made eight fours and a six over the course of her unbroken stint in the middle.

India Women scored 132/7 in 20 overs (Deepti Sharma not out, 29, Smriti Mandhana 23, Sarah Glenn 4/23), according to brief scores. 134/1 in 13 overs for England Women (Sophia Dunkley not out 61, Alice Capsey not out 32).
