England against India: Opening batsman Prithvi Shaw uploaded photos of Rohit Sharma and Ajinkya Rahane’s teammates, including the Indians, leaving Leeds ahead of the third test.
Indian opening batsman Prithvi Shaw tweeted two photos on social networks as the Indian cricket team headed off in Headingley for Leeds ahead of the 3rd England Test. In a team bus where they were headed to Leeds, Shaw tweeted photos of colleagues Rohit Sharma, Shardul Thakur Suryakumar Jadav, and Ajinkya Rahane. The third test will commence on August 25th and India, after winning the second test of Lord’s by 151 runs, would take a 1-0 lead in the five-test series.
In Sri Lanka, Shaw and Suryakumar were recently added to the Indian squad when the Indian limited-overs team toured the Island nation for the ODIs and T20Is in July.
The top-ranking Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul and the seasoned trio of Cheteshwar Pujara, skipper Virat Kohli and Ajinkya Rahane are still to be included in the series, which is medium-size.
Thakur, who played the first Test at Trent Bridge, was excluded with a hamstring injury from the Lord’s test.
Rahane struck in the second innings of the Lord’s Test a challenging half-century and established a critical 100-run partnership with Pujara after Indian gave a slim advantage.
The last day performance, though, included Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Shami, who shined with bat and ball to help India achieve a spectacular victory.
Bumrah and Shami exchanged an 89-managed partnership for the ninth wicket to help India make England 272 on Day 5.
Bumrah went back to select three wickets while Shami took one and bowed India to win along with four of Muhammad Siray and two of Ishant Sharma’s scalps.
