Ganguly has refused to discipline Shastri for a dispute during the book launch event.
Ganguly said “no permission to attend the event was requested”.
Ravi Shastri has shown an increased presence of Covid in the fourth Test.
Sourav Ganguly revealed that he hadn’t obtained permission from the BCCI before attending the book launch event in London.
Ravi Shastri, the Indian cricket team coach, will not face disciplinary action from his employer, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), said Sourav Ganguly, the president of the board. According to Ganguly, Shastri will not be penalized for participating in the launch of his own book in London. “No permission was requested” from the BCCI, Ganguly stated when talking to The Telegraph. Ganguly said that he did not have permission from the BCCI to attend the function prior to the fourth Test at The Oval. But Shastri was asked if the board had discussed anything about possible disciplinary action. “Nothing,” Ganguly said.
“Can you hold out in your hotel rooms for long? Are you capable of being imprisoned in your home indefinitely? Your existence isn’t supposed to be a cycle of being shuttled between the hotel and the stadium. This is an entirely impossible task for humans “He told The Telegraph.
“I witnessed the Dadagiri episode filming today. More than 100 people attended the meeting… and each one was properly vaccinated, but you don’t know what the results will be. Even with two vaccinations, some people are still catching the illness. Living in this fashion is what the world has become “Ganguly also said,
In the fourth Test of the India-England series at The Oval, Ravi Shastri tested positive for COVID-19, and as a result, he and Bharat Arun, R Sridhar, and Nitin Patel were placed in isolation along with him.
Second physio Yogesh Parmar, who had been serving a six-month suspension, was discovered positive for caffeine and modafinil and so missed India’s training session on the eve of the Test in Manchester.
After Parmar tested positive, Indian players assumed they also had the illness and refused to play the match, resulting in the cancellation of the Manchester Test. The BCCI president declared this.
“The players rebelled, but they can’t be blamed. It was obvious how much the players cared for Physio Yogesh Parmar because he was in close contact with theirs. Although he had been left alone by Nitin Patel, who had isolated himself, he was able to socialize freely with the players and helped them with their CV19 testing.”
“They were completely shocked to learn that his Covid-19 test came back positive. They were scared to death about contracting the sickness. One of the most difficult things about being in a bubble is having to remain in it. You must always consider their feelings “Ganguly spoke forward.
