Virat Kohli
Matthew Potts dismissed Virat Kohli in the first innings of the Edgbaston Test for 11 runs.

Kohli’s legacy will be promoting Test cricket, according to former England captain Michael Atherton.

Since November 2019, Virat Kohli has not scored a century in international cricket for the Indian team. Matthew Potts removed Virat Kohli in the opening innings of the ongoing postponed fifth Test against England for 11 runs. The right-handed hitter, on the other hand, has received a great deal of praise for his leadership of the India Test team. Ex-England captain Michael Atherton discussed Kohli’s legacy and how he hopes the Indian batsman rediscovers his “best form” during a press conference on Saturday.

“More than Virat Kohli, I’m acquainted with Rahul Dravid. It was great catching up with Rahul, whom I had the pleasure of playing against in the past and for whom I have nothing but admiration. And I hope Virat will return to his most excellent form after a couple of difficult years with the bat under his guidance “said Atherton before the start of play on Day 2 of the Sony Sports Network interview with David Gower, Ajay Jadeja, and Harsha Bhogle.

According to the former Indian captain, “I’m a big admirer of his game; he’s a brilliant batsman; he has led the Indian team to great heights as captain, and I think that will be his legacy.”

In his 68 Tests as captain of the Indian team, Kohli got 40 victories and 17 defeats under his belt. In the 2018-19 season, Kohli led India to a Test series victory in Australia under his leadership.

A day-night Test against Bangladesh at the Eden Gardens in November 2019 was the last time that Kohli had scored a century.

Since then, he has failed to reach the three-figure mark. India batsman Virat Kohli was dismissed for just 11 runs in the first innings of the ongoing Test against England after batting for just 19 balls and registering two fours in his innings.
