Top-order bats Smriti Mandhana, Shafali Verma, Sabbhineni Meghana, and Yastika Bhatia all make India’s 15-player roster for the match against Sri Lanka, which begins on Friday.
Harmanpreet Kaur, India’s new all-format skipper, believes the team will give each of its top-order hitters an opportunity to establish their worth in the upcoming T20 series against Sri Lanka, which begins on Thursday. Shafali Verma, Yastika Bhatt, and Smriti Mandhan are all top-order batswomen in India’s 15-woman squad. Shafali and Yastika opened the batting for India against New Zealand in February, when Smriti was absent.
“There are plenty of our top-of-the-order hitters who can serve as openers, including three or four of them. When it comes to this team, everyone will get a chance to show off their talents “On the eve of the series debut, Harmanpreet had this to say.
“Each and every one of us is a representative of our country, and we must seize any opportunity that presents itself at some point. Many of our hitters are versatile enough to play many positions. Everyone will be given the opportunity to bat in a position that is most comfortable to them “she threw in
All-rounder Jemimah Rodrigues, who was left out of the ODI World Cup squad but has recently returned for the series against Sri Lanka, was endorsed by Harmanpreet.
“Jemimah has a lot of playing experience. In the T20 series, she will unquestionably be a key player “Harmanpreet remarked.
There is no way to provide everyone equal opportunity all the time, but it is her obligation to talk to everyone on the team and establish the best possible lineup for large tournaments.
“It is my responsibility to make sure that everyone has ample time to practice. Observe Jemimah, and you’ll see that she takes advantage of any opportunity that comes her way. The Commonwealth Games, for example, necessitates constant communication with other players in order to find the best possible lineup “She made a comment.
There’s no word yet on whether or not the show will air in its entirety live. Sri Lanka Cricket’s official YouTube account, however, will stream the opening match live.
