The right-handed batsman was overjoyed to see the year-end on Saturday and welcome 2023.
In 2022, Virat Kohli, the standout batter for India, had a remarkable season. The former India captain hit his first T20I century in the Asia Cup of 2022 against Afghanistan, ending a century wait of 1,020 days. With an ascensive knock in the third ODI against Bangladesh earlier this month, he finally scored a century in one-day internationals. Since then, Kohli has been unstoppable, finishing 2022 as the year’s ninth leading run scorer with 1348 runs. On Saturday, as the year came to a close, the right-handed hitter joyfully welcomed 2023.
Kohli uploaded a photo of himself and his wife, the Bollywood actress Anushka Sharma, along with the hashtag “2023” and a heart emoji.
Not only did Kohli use Twitter to wish his supporters a happy new year, but so did Indian cricket superstar Sachin Tendulkar, who posted a video to Twitter showing him tapping the ball with his bat.
“Greetings! (Knock, knock.) It’s 2023! #HappyNewYear, “Tendulkar made a tweet about it.
