Since the release of the film’s teaser, Adipurush, directed by Om Raut, has been generating headlines for all the wrong reasons. The film is a dramatic rendition of the Ramayana starring Prabhas, Kriti Sanon, and Saif Ali Khan. The movie’s visual effects, portrayal of the characters, and dialogue have all been panned by religious groups, moviegoers, and critics alike. Ex-Indian batsman Virender Sehwag is the latest to voice his displeasure with the recently released film Adipurush.
Sehwag took to Twitter to ask, “Kattappa ne Bahubali ko kyun maara tha: Adipurush dekhkar pata chala.” I finally understood why Katapa had to kill Baahubali after watching Adipurush.
A reference to Prabhas’s 2015 smash hit Baahubali: The Beginning was embedded in Sehwag’s tweet. The film’s climax left viewers wondering why the protagonist, Baahubali, was murdered by his own uncle, Kattappa.
The All India Cine Workers Association has demanded that an FIR be filed against the film’s producer, director, and writer in a letter sent to Union Home Minister Amit Shah and the Mumbai Police today.
The following is a letter to the producers of the film Adipurush, written by a concerned Hindu, and addressed to the Indian film industry: “This letter is to draw your attention towards a film titled Adipurush, which was released on 16th June 2023 in the theatres across India, have been hurting the sentiments of Hindu religion and the people who believe and pray Bhagwan Ram, Maa Sita, and RamSevak bhagwan Hanuman, the movie running
Gupta had demanded a ban on the film in a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday. The filmmakers, including Manoj Muntashir Shukla and Om Raut, were also on his hit list of people to be charged with a crime.
Sehwag, a former Indian batter, has lately praised Pat Cummins, the captain of the Australian cricket team, for his outstanding performance in the first Ashes match against England last week. Former India captain MS Dhoni even got the nickname “Mr. Cool” from him.
What a Stress Test. It was one of the nicest things I’ve seen recently. The Best Cricket is played in Tests. England’s declaration at the end of Day 1 was bold, especially given the conditions. However, Khawaja was brilliant in both innings, and @patcummins30 has emerged as Test Cricket’s new It Guy. What a pressure-filled innings, and what a partnership with Lyon!,” Sehwag had tweeted.
