Hardik Pandya surprised Dasun Shanaka of Sri Lanka by shaking his hand and laughingly nodding, “I know.” during India’s match against Sri Lanka.
Dasun Shanaka, captain of Sri Lanka, won the toss before the first Twenty20 international versus India and elected to bowl first at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. Javagal Srinath, the match official, clasped hands with India’s captain Hardik Panya after learning that Shanaka had won the toss. While Shanaka expected a serious response, he was taken aback when Hardik shook his hand, nodded knowingly, and laughed.
Hardik’s response caught his opponent off guard, and the two guys laughed it off afterward.

Pandya stated that if he had won the toss and elected to bat first, it would be because he believes it is important for the team to challenge itself in bilateral matchups.
Hardik has had a rapid resurgence in his international career after leading Gujarat Titans to the IPL title last year.
Hardik was fully fit and bowled regularly again for the 2018 IPL, giving India more options with the bat and in the field.
Although it has not been confirmed if he will replace Rohit Sharma as India’s T20I captain, many believe that this will happen in the near future.
