England against India: on the 2nd day of a three-day warm-up game between Indians and County Select XI in Durham, Virat Kohli was batting on the net.
Captain Virat Kohli from India smashed the net on Wednesday at Riverside, Durham, as the Indians had a warm-up match in the same venue with County Select XI. Durham Cricket provided a video that shows Kohli batting in the net on day 2 of the warm-up. “Hello @imVkohli! Lunchtime net session for @BCCI Emirates captain” tweeted Durham Cricket. Later, Cricket’s Board of Control in India (BCCI) also uploaded a video about Captain Kohli’s Twitter handle on the network in Durham. “Captain @imVkohli batting = Pure happiness #TeamIndia,” BCCI tweeted.
Kohli was not featured in the Indian XI warm-up game, since on day 1 he was stiff in his back. Virat’s Deputy in the Ajinkya Rahane Test team, too, experienced “minimal swelling in his left high hamstring” and was not part of the Indian XI, BCCI stated on Tuesday.
Both players should be fully fit before the first England test match starts on August 4.
Without ordinary Skipper and Vice-Captain Rohit Sharma, the Indians were captain, who were all out at the first innings for 311.
The starting points were just KL Rahul (101) and Ravindra Jadeja (75), while Mayank Agarwal (28), Hanuma Vihari (24), and Cheteshwar Pujara (21) failed to get a large start after spending quite some time in the pit.
Rahul scored a superb hundred and strengthened his case for the berth in the England Test series of playing XI.
The first test of the five-game test series will start on 4 August at Trent Bridge, Nottingham, India-England.
