The fastest bowler in England is Mark Wood.
But Mark Wood still wants one of Jasprit Bumrah’s special talents.
In a video posted by International Cricket Council (ICC), Wood explained how he would steal that skill.
Mark Wood devised a novel and complex strategy to steal Jasprit Bumrah’s special ability.
Although England’s Mark Wood is currently the fastest bowler in cricket, he wants to add Jasprit Bumrah’s ability to bowl yorkers at will to his arsenal. A video posted by the International Cricket Council (ICC) on social media handles shows how a cricket ball can be used to extract the “superpower” of Bumrah from a cricketer.
If you were given the option of stealing one of your competitors’ skills, which one and what type of skill would you choose? When Wood mentioned the Indian sprinter, he was quick to identify him and say, “It’s a sigh of relief. There may be as many as five steps to perfecting the yorker.”
What method of theft did the interviewer inquire about? to which he responded, “I’d probably get something like the Space Jump movie. I’d rather buy a cricket ball than a basketball. I get the superpower if I drain him of all of his energy.”
Mark Wood’s first match for England in the T20 World Cup against South Africa was a difficult one for the batsman. Wood’s four overs yielded 47 runs, but he did not take a wicket.
Tymal Mills was forced to withdraw from the tournament due to an injury, so Wood was called into the starting XI.
England lost the match by 10 runs, but their semi-final qualification was unaffected as they along with Australia secured their place in the last four of the tournament.
Pakistan and New Zealand qualified for the semi-finals from Group 2.
